Title: A Life in the Day
Disclaimer: I own nothing…
Author Notes: This is the second of my stories. I think I will just post one of my stories as a chapter addendum to my first FRIENDS fic “TOW Ross Forgets Rachel”. Please RnR!!! Appreciate it!
Rachel Green flung open the door to her apartment in Greenwich Village, which she shared with her best friend Monica. <What a terrible day> she thought to herself. She flopped herself onto the couch and fell asleep immediately, not caring whether or not Monica would freak because her shoes were still on.
Ross Geller had just returned from a hard day at NYU. He put his briefcase down by the counter and undid his tie. He looked out the window and saw the lights on in Monica’s apartment. <Hmmm, dinner made by Monica sounds wonderful right now>. He decided to call first to see who it was who was home. When no one answered and the answering machine picked up he decided to leave a message and just go over to wait. He grabbed a jacket and headed for Monica’s.
Rachel was sleeping peacefully while the phone rang. She didn’t even stir when the answering machine picked up. But when Ross’s message began to play, she began to dream.
Rachel was in a meadow filled with colorful flowers. It was a cloudless day and the sun was shining brightly. She began running around and twirling like a child. She stops all of a sudden to see Ross standing right in front of her. He lightly brushes her cheek and she in turn softly kisses his lips.
Ross walked into Monica and Rachel’s apartment. He immediately spots Rachel sleeping soundly on the couch. He sighs inwardly as he makes his way over to her. He kneels down beside her and lightly brushes her cheek. She in turn softly kisses his lips. <Where did this come from?> He thinks as he quickly gets into the kiss.
Rachel awoke as an overwhelming sense of warmth overcame her. As she opened her eyes slowly, she noticed that she was kissing Ross. She smiled slightly; remembering her dream. <This is nice> she thought, <So this is what it feels like to kiss Ross>. Rachel had often harbored deep feelings for Ross, ever since she had been in the 8th grade. Often had she wondered what it would be like to kiss him. Never had she told Monica for she feared her reaction and what it would do to their friendship. Therefore, since Monica never knew, neither did Ross.
As surprised as he was, he couldn’t help but enjoy the kiss immensly. He never thought that he would be kissing Rachel Green, the girl of his dreams. Never in his wildest imagination could he have pictured himself kissing her. The thing was, she seemed to be enjoying it. He quickly reminded himself that she had been asleep when he came up to her and she most likely thought that he was someone else. So, slowly so as to savor this last moment of euphoria, he pulled back. As soon as their lips parted, he regretted his decision. He watched her longingly as her eyes fluttered open.
All of a sudden, Rachel felt a chill pass over her. Praying that Ross was still there, she opened her eyes. “I’m sorry,” Ross whispered, “I should not have done that. It’s just you looked so beautiful and fragile sleeping there and I couldn’t help myself…” but Rachel silenced him by leaning up and pressing herself to him for another kiss just as sweet as the last one. Neither noticed the rest of the gang standing there, Monica in Chandler’s arms and Phoebe in Joey’s. “They make a cute couple, don’t they, Chandler,” Monica whispered in Chandler’s ear. Chandler nodded in response. “The lobster’s have finally found each other,” replied Phoebe. Joey couldn’t help but smile in response to his lover’s strange metaphor. He kissed her cheek and said, “I’m glad to have found mine.” Phoebe giggled as the gang left Ross and Rachel to some peace.
Meanwhile, back at the couch, Ross and Rachel were still totally oblivious to the gang’s entrance and retreat. “What’s happening?” Rachel asked Ross. “I don’t know,” Ross answered, “but I do know this, I am totally and completely in love with you, Rachel Green. I always have been and I always will be.” Tears began to stream down Rachel’s face and Ross kissed each of them away. “I love you, Ross,” she cried, “I will always love you.” With that, they pulled in for a long embrace and they lived happily ever after.
Well, that’s a wrap (at least for this story). I hope you enjoyed it! Criticism is appreciated (constructive only please!). I’m sorry if this was confusing for anybody. I’m lucky that I found some time to write another story. I am in my freshman year at college, I have a job and I’m on the Karate Team at school. I am one busy girl! Whew! Anyway, RnR please!!! I love you all!
