Choloate(devil's food is especially good) cake, with 1/2 the normal amount of chocolate frosing in the center. Then, add about 1/2 a jar of Raspberry preserves. Add the top, frost the cake with chocolate frosting, and decorate with mint leaves and raspberries, if you want. Very Happy

This ends up DELICIOUS! Careful that you don't put TOO much jam in the center, or the cake will slide when you put the top on. Very Happy

You can do what I mentioned above with vanilla frosting, too. Or, you could try adding raspberry extract to frosting-- although I'm not sure what that would taste like. I've never done it. Very Happy

There's also raspberry chocolate chips... you could mix those into the cake. Very Happy I think Hershey's makes them.

I also have a recipe somewhere for a one layer chocolate cake with gooey raspberry in the middle. It's a bit complicated, but it does have the raspberry IN the cake. Very Happy If you're interested, I'll try to find it. Very Happy

what you can do, if you want to go frosting-less is make the a moist two layer cake, then fill the middle with perserves and then sprinkle powder sugar on top and in the middle of the top you can put a little triangle of raspberries.
