The next morning at Monica and Rachel’s place everyone’s there

Joey: man Ross reeeeealy got lucky last night I could hear them from our place

All: Joey!!!!

Joey: what? it’s true! They did it like 9 times!

Monica: (roles her eyes) eww Joey, Ross is my brother!

Joey: gees relax Monica it’s not like I said u slept with him!

Phoebe: Joey !

Joey: u guys are mean! I’m leaving I have a follow up to that audition from
the other day....bye

All: bye/k / see ya later
(Joey leaves)

Monica: I just hope Ross tells her the truth soon this just feels wrong

Phoebe: I know it’s so weird

Chandler: ya well Ross is gonna tell her he’s just waiting for the right time

Monica: the right time?! Did u not hear what happened last night?

Phoebe: breathe Monica breathe!

Monica: well it’s just that I know Rachel’s gonna be mad at him if she finds
out somehow and I don’t wanna be stuck in the middle of my best friend and my
brother ..again

Chandler: we know

Phoebe: I can’t stand all this negativity u guys come on

Chandler: ya phoebes is right let’s not talk about this anymore

Monica: ok

Phoebe: let’s go shopping or do something fun

Chandler: shopping?..... that could be ok

Phoebe: oh my god (she starts laughing)

Chandler: what?!

Phoebe: that’s it your officially gay!
Monica and phoebes laugh

Chandler: (storming out) a guy tries to be nice......

Phoebe: good my plan worked yey!

Monica: what plan?

Phoebe: I got rid of chandler Duh

Monica: besides obvious reasons....why did u want to get rid of him?

Phoebe: because I wanna let u in on a secret of mine Isn’t this fun?!

Monica: what secret?

Phoebe: okay well I snuck into the security office at the hospital and..

Monica: Phoebe!

Phoebe: I know ,I’m a hard ass. anyway big picture please, as I was saying I
was in the security office and I got a tape that has all of Ross’s visits to
Rachel on it!

Monica: so?

Phoebe: not the sharpest tool in the shed are ya? anyway look I figure if
when Ross tells Rachel she’s gonna be really mad at him at least at first and
if she see’s these tapes mabey she’ll be able to forgive him?! Great idea
huh?

Monica: yea in a twilight zone creepy kinda way!

Phoebe: what?!

Monica: that’s just weird Phoebes you can’t do that

Phoebe: really? I thought it would be great

Monica: phoebes?

Phoebe: yea?

Monica: let’s just go shopping

Phoebe: okay what about Rachel?

Monica: the two lovebirds are still asleep

Phoebe: oh okay let’s go

Rachel’s room

Ross and Rachel are cuddling in bed
Ross kisses Rachel on her neck and then moves to her shoulder and her arms
and then her face and lips
she’s smiling and kissing him back

Rachel: hey you

Ross: (between kisses) I love you

Rachel: (between kisses) I love you too

Ross: last night was amazing

Rachel: I know (smiling in a sexy voice she says ) sure you wanna go to work
today? ( they both laugh)

Ross: I wish I could stay but I took off so much work when you were in the
hospital so I really have to go. I’ll miss you (ala Rach in tow Ross and
Rachel try to make each other jealous) he leans in and gives her a passionate
kiss ......hmm...bye I’ll see you tonight?
Rachel: kisses him : yea ...bye

Time lapse

Ross is at the museum talking to Chandler on the phone

Chandler: so I heard u had an eventful night huh?

Ross: yea it was amazing, it was never like that before, She was just so...

Chandler: (cutting him off) okay already we’re not girls I don’t need to
hear anymore

They both laugh

Chandler: okay I know this is the last thing you wanna hear right now but
aren’t you gonna tell her that you guys broke up and um why ?

Ross: I will it’s just this is do hard how can I hurt her like that again?

Chandler: ok but don’t you realize that your not telling her is going to hurt
her even more .when her memory comes back she’s gonna remember what happened.

Ross: I know I’m gonna tell her really it’s just gonna be so hard

Chandler: I know

Cuts to Monica’s the girls are talking

Monica: so u had a pretty good time with Ross last night huh?

Rach: yea it was nice

Monica: nice? Rach we share a wall

Rachel: smiling okay it was amazing! Okay I know this sounds a little
Dawson’s creek but he was so gentle and passionate ... and even when things
were really intense I just had this feeling like I was safe with him ,like as
long as I was in his arms nothing bad could happen.....It just feels so right
when I’m with him.

Phoebe: ya well it must have felt right if you did it 9 times
they all laugh

Rachel: i just love him so much . I’ve never been in a relationship like this
before I’m even more crazy about him then I was in the beginning. I’m really
happy with a guy for the first time in my life.

3 days later
Rachel’s room
Ross is getting ready to leave for work

Ross: honey I need to talk to you tonight when I get home from work can you
come over at say 6 ?

Rachel: sure

Ross: okay well goodbye sweetie I love you
Rachel kisses him softly and quickly

Rachel: bye honey see you tonight

Ross leaves and a minute later Rachel walks out into the apt everyone but
Ross is there

Phoebe: hey Rach

to Rachel
Monica: Is something wrong?

Rachel : not really Ross just got me a little nervous . He was all serious
before he left and he said he needs to talk to me tonight alone at his apt.

All of the gang except Rachel realize what Ross is going to tell her and
exchange looks with each other quickly

Monica: I wouldn’t stress over it Rach

Rachel: he’s happy being with me right?

Chandler: of course he is Rachel he loves you

Rachel: you sure?

Joey: yea all he can talk about is how great you are

Phoebe: ya it’s really annoying sometimes
everyone stares at her

what? it’s true

Monica: you know what why don’t we go out all of us girls we can go shopping

Phoebe: ya but sorry you can’t come chandler

Chandler: Ha ha ha very funny

Monica: come on it’ll get your mind off Ross plus we haven’t done the girls
night thing in a really long time it’ll be fun

Rachel: okay thanks guys

Monica: okay come on we have to get ready we need to start having fun in 20
minutes

Rachel: and clearly not a minute sooner

Time lapse

The girls are shopping

Monica: isn’t this shirt great?

Phoebe: ooh yea I love it definitely get it so I can borrow it.... and of
course because it looks so great on you.

Monica: okay I’m gonna get it

Phoebe: phew close one....what’s wrong Rach? still thinking about Ross?

Rachel: yea......

Woman: um excuse me I love that shirt your wearing. Do you mind me asking
where you got it?

Rachel: no not at all I bought it at bloomingdales

Woman: oh I love bllomingdales I go there so much I now know every single
person working there and their life story

Rachel: really me too

Woman: really do u know Chloe?

Rachel: Chloe um it sure sounds familiar, I probably do

come on let’s go Mike is gonna be home soon Karen

Woman: oh I have to go

Rachel: it was nice meeting you

Woman: nice meeting you too bye

Rachel: bye.......Chloe? do we know a Chloe phoebes?

Phoebe: ummm....ooh look at that skirt you should buy that for your date
tonight

Rachel: yea it’s great

Rachel’s cell rings
Rachel: hello?......Mark?.......I’m sorry I think you have the wrong number

Time lapse

Rachel’s walking over to Ross’s she’s wearing a black leather skirt, boots
,a red tank top the kind with only one shoulder strap, and a back leather
jacket

Rachel: Chloe, Chloe why does that name sound so familiar? hmm I’ll probably
remember later

she rings Ross’s doorbell and he answers the door

Ross: hey wow you look great Rach ( he kisses her softly and the kiss lasts
much longer than their usual hello kiss , finally they break but Ross still
has his arms around Rachel’s waist)

Rachel: wow

Ross: I missed you

Rachel: I missed you too

Ross sweeps away a piece of Rachel’s hair and puts his hand on her face
Rachel leans in and kisses him softly and he kisses her back a little rougher
and pulls her closer to him with every kiss it gets more intense. They make
their way over to the living room still lip locked and Ross takes Rachel’s
jacket off. Then he pushes her onto the couch with him on top of her.

10 min. later ....they’re one the couch and are still kissing but it’s
slowed down and their kissing very softly. Ross looks into Rachel’s eyes and
they both smile

Rachel: what?

Ross: your so beautiful

Rachel kisses him and then breaks it

Rachel: so you wanted to talk to me ?

Ross: oh yea um I’ll be right back okay?

Rachel: okay

Rachel is thinking to herself

Rachel: Chloe,, Mark.....I know they fit together somehow something’s
clicking in my mind I think it’s something really bad too.....( Just then
Rachel gets a flashback of a memory)

Montage of her memory coming back

Ross: I mean, I don’’t feel like I even have a girlfriend anymore.
Rachel: You want me to just quit my job so that you can feel like you’’ve
got a girlfriend?
Ross: Is this about Mark?
Rachel: (shocked) Oh my God.
Ross: Okay, it’’s not, it’’s not.
Rachel: Oh my God. I cannot keep having this same fight with you Ross! Look,
urrgh, maybe we should take a break.
Ross: Fine, you’’re right. Let’’s ah, let’’s take a break, (goes to
the
door) let’’s cool off, okay, let’’s get some frozen yoghurt, or
something..
(opens the door)
Rachel: No. A break from us.
(Ross looks at her, then leaves slamming the door behind him.)
[Scene: Monica and Rachel's, Mark is there, opening Chinese food boxes.]
Rachel: Then, we had this big, stupid fight, and I said I wanted to take a
break, I don’’t want to take a break.
Ross: (on the phone) I’’ve been thinking, this is crazy, I mean don’’t,
don’’t you think we can work on this?
Mark: Hey, what do you want to drink?
Ross: Who’’s that?
Rachel: Nobody.
Ross: Is that Mark?
Rachel: Umm, honey, look he just came over to....
Ross: Yeah! Got it! (slams down the phone)

Rachel: Ross, you had sex with another woman!

Rachel: God! And to have to hear about it from Gunther!!
Ross: Come on! Like I wanted him to tell you, I ran all over the place trying
to make sure that didn’’t happen!
Rachel: Oh, that is so sweet. I think I’’m falling in love with you all over
again.

Ross: Look Rachel, I wanted to tell you, I thought I should, I-I did, and
then Chandler and Joey convinced me not to.

Ross: Don’’t you realise none of this would’’ve ever happened if I
didn’’t
think at that same moment you weren’’t having sex with Mark?
Rachel: All right. Let’’s say I had slept with Mark. Would you have been
able to forgive me?
Ross: (pause) Yes I would.
Rachel: You’’d be okay if you knew that Mark had kissed me, and been naked
with me, and made love to me?
Ross: (less sure) Yes.
Rachel: You knew that our hot, sweaty, writhing bodies were....
Ross: (covering his ears and screaming) La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la! Okay,
okay, yeah, I would have been devastated but, I would still want to be with
you. Because it’’s, I mean it’’s you.

[Later, Ross and Rachel are sitting in the kitchen.]
Ross: What? Come on Rach, tell me what you’’re thinking?
Rachel: I’’m thinking, I’’m gonna order a pizza.
Ross: Order a pizza like, ‘‘I forgive you?’’
(She turns around and glares at him, he turns away.)

[Cut to later, they are finishing up the pizza, there’’s one piece left.]
Ross: You can have the last piece, if you want.
Rachel: Well, I should think so. You slept with someone.
[Later, in the living room, Rachel is sitting on the couch, Ross is on the
chair.]
Ross: What, now you’’re not even taking to me? (moves over to the coffee
table) Look Rachel, I-I’’m sorry, okay, I’’m sorry, I was out of my
mind. I
thought I’’d lost you, I didn’’t know what to do. Come on! Come on, how
insane must I have been to do something like this? Huh? I-I don’’t cheat
right, I, that’’s not me, I’’m not Joey!
Ross: Y'know what, y'know what, I’’m-I’’m not the one that wanted that,
that break, okay. You’’re the one that bailed on us. You’’re the one
that,
that ran when things got just a little rough!
Rachel: That’’s....
Ross: That’’s what?!
Rachel: That is neither here nor there.
Ross: Okay, well here we are. Now we’’re in a tough spot again, Rach. What
do you want to do? How do you want to handle it? Huh? Do you wanna fight for
us? Or, do you wanna bail? (sits down next to her) Look, I, (on the verge of
tears) I did a terrible, stupid, stupid thing. Okay? And I’’m sorry, I wish
I could take it back, but I can’’t. (We see Monica and Phoebe are almost in
tears.) I just can’’t see us throwing away something we know is so damn
good. Rachel, I love you so much.
(He kisses her on her shoulder, then her neck, then the side of her face,
then just before he kisses her on the lips....)
Rachel: No Ross!! (stands up and moves away from him) Don’’t! You can’’t
just kiss me and think you’’re gonna make it all go away, okay? It
doesn’’t
work that way. It doesn’’t just make it better. Okay?
Ross: Okay, okay, okay.
Rachel: (softly) I think you should go.
Ross: What?
Rachel: (softly) I really think you need to go now.
Ross: (moving over to stand in front of her) Okay, okay. This morning you
said there was nothing so big that we couldn’’t work past it together...
Rachel: Yeah, what the hell did I know!
Ross: Look, look, there’’s got to be a way we can work past this. Okay,
(takes a hold of one of her arms.) I can’’t imagine, I can’’t imagine my
life without you. (Both of them are starting to cry.) Without, without these
arms, and your face, and this heart. Your good heart Rach, (drops to his
knees and hugs her around her waist) and, and....
Rachel: (crying) No. I can’’t, you’’re a totally different person to me
now. I used to think of you as somebody that would never, ever hurt me, ever.
God, and now I just can’’t stop picturing with her, I can’’t, (Ross
stands
up and backs away) it doesn’’t matter what you say, or what you do, Ross.
It’’s just changed, everything. Forever.
[We see the rest of them are now crying.]
Ross: (crying) Yeah, but this can’’t be it, I mean.
(Pause)
Rachel: Then how come it is?

Cut back to present time Rachel on the couch looking hurt and angry she’s on
the verge of tears

Rachel: oh my god.....I can’t believe this .....The amnesia...I forgot all
about that....and Ross just completely took advantage of me ! How could he do
that to me? I am such an idiot...god and all I’ve been talking about lately
is how great he is meanwhile he’s been using me this whole time! I can’t
even look at him right now

she runs out of the apartment with tears streaming down her face
Then Ross comes back to find Rachel is missing

Ross: Rachel? Rach ?
